An Opportunity for the Ages

Back in August of 2010 a new company was born, www.orcamd.com, focusing on the mHealth ecosystem through the exploration and development of mobile technology.  There is a lot in that little sentence and it has created quite a stir in the mobile world. To date Orca MD has developed four iPad/iPhone apps and is currently working on 6 additional apps, with 10 more slated for this year.  This is only the beginning.  Without giving out too much information... Read More

There is just too much static…so just ignore it.

In the world of marketing and advertising there always seems to be something new, something better and something you just HAVE to use.  After 17 years of watching, living and experiencing this, I have come to a solid conclusion—no. No I don’t have to use the newest, latest or most revolutionary thing out there to be successful.  In fact it is just the opposite.  The most successful marketing and advertising campaigns use the oldest techniques. I... Read More

365 copies and counting… they hope

I came across an article about the new GQ iPad magazine app from Appleinsider.com and it got me thinking.  The article focuses on the fact that GQ has only sold 365 copies of their iPad magazine in a month and a half since the iPad has been out.  Wow!  Out of a million plus possible consumers GQ has only managed to get 365 downloads, really?  Is this a sign that digital magazines are doomed?  Not even close. My favorite piece from the article... Read More

Ping Pong anywhere, anyway. Wii meet my iPad!

Let it begin…  One of our newest projects is only days away from being launched and this is one for the ages! Take an iPad and two iPhones, lay them on the table what do you see?  What we saw was a ‘game board’ and two ‘controllers’. That led us to our first of a line of  apps using both the iPhone and the iPad.  The app is ping pong and we call it Ping Pong Battle. The game is simple in concept; the iPhones are your paddles and... Read More

Become fearless and go digital

Welcome to 2011 the year of digital content. Okay so it isn’t 2011 yet, but for all intents and purposes it is in this marketers world. So why is 2011 the year of digital content, simply put it is because 2010 has been and will be the year of digital hardware. Devices that were once just concepts, like the iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets are becoming realities each and every day. For the first time in the world’s history we have... Read More

A real ‘change’ you can believe in

In redesigning my website I took the time to go back through a few blog posts and I found that on December 31st, 2009 I took a look back at the iPhone and the app world surrounding it. I wanted change in the mobile App world and it looks like that change is finally happening. 2009 was a big year for the app world and the iPhone in general ( Apple included ), but 2010 has quickly began to show us just what potential the app world really has. In... Read More

Lets make some money…is there really an “app for that?”

As many of you know by checking out my LIME Marketing website, you know that at LIME we develop and design iPhone apps. We have been in the game for just about as long as the next developer and we have had varying successes. I wanted to take a minute and put some real light on the process for those that are not as familiar with the iPhone development world. There have been many iPhone developers that have just jumped into this new market place thinking... Read More

What we’ve learned from the app world in 2009

As I stated in an earlier blog post here is another iPhone related post. This one will focus on what we have learned from being in the App Store in 2009 and what we will and will NOT do in 2010. Lets start off with this fact, “no one saw these numbers coming”!
